Mozilla Firefox Version 78.0 Released

Mozilla sent Firefox Version 78.0 to the release channel today. The update reportedly includes security updates but no information has been provided as of this post.

Also released was Firefox ESR Version 68.10.0.

Update: To get the update now, select "Help" from the Firefox menu, then pick "About Firefox." Mac users need to select "About Firefox" from the Firefox menu. If you do not use the English language version, Fully Localized Versions are available for download.

Help + About didn't work this time (said I was up to date).
Never had that happen before.
Got it from the download site almost as effortlessly.

Pure speculation on my part ... the internal updater is on hold because 78.0.1 is on the horizon: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/78.0.1/releasenotes/

78.0.1 now available via the internal updater.

In addition, the security updates that were included in version 78.0 were finally published. That update included thirteen (13) security updates of which seven are high, four are moderate and two low in severity.

Mozilla sent Firefox Version 78.0.2 to the release channel today. The update includes one security update rated moderate.
