I have been using firefox for many years but just recently it has been malfunctioning. I can log-on OK and read my emails (in mail2world) but I cannot see attachments. A blank square appears and if I click on the attachment indicator below the email a notice appears saying something like "Server is busy etc." This never used to happen. I have emailed mozilla firefox for help but the the reply was unhelpful. This problem doesn't occur on Internet Explorer. I have reinstalled firefox without result. Someone might say "Why bother, use IE" but there is something wrong. Any ideas anybody?

Corrine

Hi, zumlif.

Just to eliminate a problem between Firefox and mail2world, do you have the same problem with any other e-mail accounts (i.e., Hotmail, G-mail or Yahoo)?  Do you have problems viewing images with Firefox at any other site?

Can you see the image below?

Hello Corrine,
It is about 2 years since we last corresponded and I am still managing to make a mess of my emails. Yes I am able to see the image of the Christmas Tree.It is only recently I have had this problem with Firefox. I can access Firefox via Internet Explorer and it works OK. This is what I find annoying. Firefox and IE are the only browsers I use. I can't be bothered with anything else.
I didn't find "Firefox help" of much use.

Do you have the latest version of Firefox installed (17.0.1)?

Let's test Firefox to see if the problem is caused by an add-on.  At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button, go over to the Help menu and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.... Firefox will start up with the Firefox Safe Mode dialog.  When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, press the button Start in Safe Mode.

Do you have the problem with images then?

Still wondering if you have an alternate e-mail address to test so we can be sure the problem isn't with mail2world.

Hello Corrine,
Thank you for your reply. This is what I get when I try to open an attachment in Firefox.

Hi Phillip.

In researching your problem, I have found problems people have had with mail2world and Firefox, although not your exact problem.  In order to eliminate that this is a problem specific to mail2world, do you have another e-mail account that you could test?  For example, do you have a Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail e-mail account?

Hello Corrine,
Yes, I do have another email Account and my address is [edited]. This server claims to be able to collect from any other email account but it cannot recognise my mail2world account. This seems quite strange to me as I have used Firefox and mail2word for years without any trouble at all and london.com has previously been able to collect from mail2world although I used it very little.

Philip

Hi, Philip.

What I am attempting to establish is whether you are able to open attachments with Firefox from an alternate e-mail address.  I was attempting to ascertain whether you are able to open attachments from the alternate e-mail address.

What version Firefox is installed?  (If you don't know, at the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button.  Click Help, click About Firefox.)

To eliminate mail2world as the problem, please send yourself an e-mail with an attachment to your london.com address.  Can you open the attachment with Firefox at the london.com address?

If you are unable to open the attachment with Firefox at the london.com address, please try in Firefox Safe Mode.  Do the following:  At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button, go over to the Help menu and select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled..."  Firefox will start up with the Firefox Safe Mode dialog.  When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, press the button Start in Safe Mode.
